Army Redeploys 11 Generals In Major Shakeup, See Names

Following the appointment of a new Chief of Army Staff, the Nigerian army has redeployed 11 generals.

Eleven officers have been redeployed by the Nigerian armed force.

The commanders were redeployed close by other senior officials of the military after the arrangement of the new Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Maj.- Gen. Farouk Yahaya.

The redeployment is coming not many days after 29 Generals, who are seniors to the COAS, were purportedly resigned.

An assertion on Thursday in Abuja by the Director of Army Public Relations, Brig.- Gen. Mohammed Yerima, peruses: “The Nigerian Army has delivered postings and arrangements of senior officials. This is in accordance with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision to have an expert Nigerian Army prepared to achieve doled out missions inside a Joint Environment in Defense of Nigeria.

“Those influenced in the rearrangement include: Maj.- Gen. F. O. Omoigui, from Headquarters, Theater Command, Operation Hadin Kai to Land Forces Simulation Center, Nigeria and designated Director General; Maj.- Gen. C. G. Musa, from Nigerian Army Resource Center, to Headquarters, Theater Command, Operation Hadin Kai and selected Theater Commander; Maj.- Gen. O. R. Aiyenigba, from Defense Headquarters (DHQ) to Headquarters, Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police and selected Provost Marshal (Army), and Maj.- Gen. I. M. Jallo, from Defense Space Administration to Headquarters, Theater Command, Operation Hadin Kai and named Deputy Theater Commander 1.

“Others influenced in the posting include: Brig.- Gen. N. U. Muktar, from Nigeria High Commission, Islamabad, Pakistan, to Office of the COAS and named Director of Procurement; Brig.- Gen. = O. Nwachukwu, from Defense Headquarters (Director, Defense Information) to Headquarters, Directorate of Army Public Relations and designated Director; Brig.- Gen. A. E. Abubakar, from Department of Training and Operations (Defunct) to Headquarters, 22 Brigade and named Commander; Brig.- Gen. K. O. Ukandu, from Office of the COAS (Director Procurement) to National Defense College and designated Directing Staff.

“Brig.- Gen. I. B. Abubakar, from Nigerian Army Armor School to Army Headquarters, Department of Army Operations and named Deputy Director Operations; Brig.- Gen. A. M. Umar, from Army War College Nigeria to Office of the COAS and designated Chief of Staff to the COAS, and Brig.- Gen. A. J. S. Gulani, from Nigerian Army Armor School to Headquarters, 24 Task Force Brigade and selected Commander.

“Likewise influenced are: Col. K. E. Inyang, from Headquarters, Department of Army Logistics, to Office of the COAS and designated Military Assistant to the COAS; Col. O. O. Braimah, from Headquarters, Theater Command of Operation Hadin Kai to the Nigeria High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan and selected Defense Attaché; and Col. I. P. Omoke, from Office of the COAS to Defense Intelligence Agency and selected Assistor Director, Foreign Liaison/Liaison Officer (Army).

“The COAS, Maj.- Gen. Faruk Yahaya, encouraged every one of the influenced senior officials to legitimize the certainty rested in them. All postings and arrangements are with prompt impact.”
